Courtney and Breanne Engagement Shoot | Manito Park Spokane, WA

I have had so many fun adventures to catch up on so far this summer. First off though I want to share my favorites from Courtney and Breanne's engagement session at Manito Park. These two are so much fun and as we wandered through Manito on one of the balmiest days of the year so far we got some amazing images.

We started off in the rose garden. I love it there. The lighting is always beautiful without fail. If it weren't already occupied by a pretty pergola I would build myself a shanty there and live, well lit, forever.

Later on we ambled our way to the Japanese Gardens, which we tiptoed around quietly while trying not to disturb anyone's inner tranquility. We are respectful like that. :)

And then we found the koi. I must confess that fish scare me. They have big unblinking eyes and are generally unpredictable. They stare. Breanne and Courtney are very friendly and kindly shared a story about a friend who was afraid of ... balloons.

These two are such a kind, loving couple. They deserve every happiness in the world and I cannot wait to share the images from their beautiful wedding with you. :)

Warm Weather = Distraction

The warm weather is finally here at last and my poor blog has suffered as a result. :) Instead of a one-off, sunny days are now a regular occurrence around here which makes me want to go outside and do things like mow the lawn and get some of that pesky painting out of the way that I have been meaning to do. While I paint my bathroom, enjoy some of my favorite photos from the last week:

Actually, this was two weeks ago. But this is the fountain at Duncan Gardens in Manito park. I did a lovely session with Courtney and Breanne there and that day was as beautiful as the weather has been lately.

My Molly. We call her Molly Moo Munkin. Don't ask how she got all those weird names -- when you have a dog like Molly who thinks that she's a person the names kind of make themselves up.

I got my Lia Sophia jewelry order! I am not usually one for direct sales parties or anything but I have gotten hooked on their jewelry big time. :) The ones in focus are Improv (gold and silver) and Tamarindo (orange and blue). Tamarindo is a little bit of a stretch for my neutral-loving self, but it's fun and cute and perfect for summertime.

This last photo is for my mom. Our ancestors were covered-wagon types and my mom loves the history there. I also had to dress up as a pioneer when I was a kid. Needless to say stuff like this catches my eye almost every time. Also can you believe the beautiful blue sky? I am in love.

Tiffany and Marshall are Getting Married | Cheney WA Engagement Photography

It all started on a lark. It was an average night in the dorms at Eastern Washington University. Tiffany was texting with a friend, sharing stories and comments one letter and emoticon at a time.  At the time she thought nothing of it. She was just herself -- fabulous, sweet, and funny. It wasn't until the next day that she and Marshall were formally introduced and he revealed that he had stolen her friend's phone and was the one who was talking to her all evening. :)

Marshall and Tiffany are getting married where they met -- the campus of Eastern Washington University -- this fall.

A couple of weeks ago I drove out to Cheney and met them for a sweet and rustic themed engagement session. :)

Tiffany and Marshall, I know your wedding day is just the beginning of a grand and wonderful lifelong adventure together. Thank you for trusting me with your engagement photos!

Scope Out A Venue: Rainbow Springs Ranch, Deer Park WA

On Sunday afternoon I drove out with my brides Courtney and Breanne to see their venue -- Rainbow Springs Ranch in Deer Park. I love to go out to your venue with you so I can see it as you do and become more familiar with it. :)

When they said they were getting married on a ranch, I said "Are there horses?" I love horses. And yes, there are indeed horses at Rainbow Springs Ranch.

This venue is beautiful, rustic, and quiet.

The owners have decorated the property with all sorts of cute vintage signs and equipment which are great not only for photo ops but to add to the ambiance of the wedding.

A covered pavilion is the epicenter for the reception, and the venue is lit with twinkle lights as the evening progresses. :) I love twinkle lights.

I enjoyed visiting Rainbow Springs Ranch and I am looking forward to Breanne and Courtney's wedding on the 22nd!

We capped off the evening with a little engagement session at Manito Park. More to come. :)
